Residential led mixed-use development, Camden, London

A detailed air quality assessment and EIA chapter was undertaken for a proposed residential and retail redevelopment in Camden, London. The assessment included the following elements:

  • the potential impact on local air quality from demolition and construction activities at the site;
  • introduction of new exposure in a designated Air Quality Management Area (AQMA);
  • the impact of changes in vehicle movements of the local network following completion of the proposed development;
  • an assessment of the impact of combined heat and power (CHP) boiler emissions on local air quality; and
  • an air quality "neutral" assessment in relation to the building and transport emissions.

Where appropriate, mitigation measures were discussed in relation to all elements of the air quality assessment.
